Indian Ocean; Indo-West Pacific, from Japan to Australia (Robba et al. 2004; Yang et al. 2017). Records of fossils from the Late Miocene to Holocene in India, Indonesia, and Thailand (Robba et al. 2004; Surakiatchai et al. 2018). Record in Thailand. Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea (Wells et al. 2021). Taxonomic remarks and comparisons. This species is recognised based on the descriptions and figures in Powell (1969) and Robba et al. (2004), specifically in having an elongate-fusiform shell with the sculpture of oblique nodes on the peripheral angulation and finer spiral cords over the shoulder slope as well as a twin cord forming a weak subsutural margin.
