The main purpose of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), which has an increasing importance in modern business life and working environments, is to protect people from work accidents and occupational diseases and to create healthy and safe working environments. Many situations that may endanger the health and safety of the person arising from the working environment can be prevented with rational measures. For this reason, providing Occupational Health and Safety trainings to create a "Safety Culture", especially before they start working life, has an important place in preventing many future accidents. For this purpose, the Higher Education Institution (YÖK) has taken Occupational Health and Safety courses to the status of "Compulsory Course" in most of the Vocational Schools where "Technicians" who take on important tasks in the working environment are educated. This study is designed to examine how much this course has affected students' knowledge and awareness of OHS. The study group consisted of students studying in the field of Agriculture and Crop Production, very different from the groups examined so far. For this purpose, the study universe was created by 48 students studying at Bursa Uludağ University Technical Sciences Vocational School Landscape and Ornamental Plants Breeding Program in the 2021-2022 academic year; The sample consisted of 42 volunteer students, 12 boys and 30 girls. A questionnaire consisting of a total of 19 questions using the "Triple Rubric" was applied to first and second year students, and the data were applied and evaluated with frequency distributions, descriptive statistics, reliability and Mann Whitney U test analysis. As a result of the study, 76.2% of the participants stated that the OHS of the participants directly affects their working life, 76.2% of them said that occupational safety training should be taken before starting their working life, 73.8% showed the necessary sensitivity to the occupational safety rules, 61%, 9 of them stated that they saw the benefit of occupational safety training during their work, 73.8% of them stated that paying attention to OHS increases their work efficiency and quality, and 69.0% of them thought that employees should play a more active role in OHS.
