The manual describes the rules of action in crisis situations occurring in the field of food safety. It is directed towards the State Sanitary Inspection which is the official food control body of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate and is responsible for food safety in Poland as well as to the Minister of Health who coordinates the system of food safety. The aim of the manual is to provide the regulations for modes of action, management in crisis situations and the division of responsibilities for competent authorities in the food sector, including food contact materials. The guidelines should be helpful in making decisions appropriate to individual crisis situations and should be updated when necessary.
