The aim was to provide an overview of open data in Croatia available for commercial and non- commercial use in the agriculture sector. On-line available source and data providers were examined as well as legal, strategical, technical and infrastructural opportunities of use and data providing. Open data useful for sector of agriculture (geolocation, transport, meteorological, environmental…) is made available by public institutions for commercial and non- commercial use in order to provide added value and economical gain. Open data portal of the Republic of Croatia, provides access to data from different thematic areas: social (96 sets), finances (48), environment (42), politics (41), education and communication (39), agriculture, forestry and fishery (33), law (16), employment (13), business (13), transportation (12 data sets). Data sets provided from the agricultural sector are all (except the Farm register) provided by the Croatian bureau of statistics. Predominately that data is pre-analysed and with limited re-usability. It can be concluded that the agenda of open and transparent data in agricultural planning, production and research in Croatia has a lot of perspective for development and is aching for interdisciplinary approach.
