Major changes are being made to the Uzbek higher professional education system. National research universities are defined and some universities are combined into federal universities. Regional universities are currently facing a challenging situation. Many of them are forced to forage for their own sustenance. The activities of universities are also challenging under these circumstances. The traditional types of university activities-educational and scientific - are supplemented by strategic development management, economic management, information technology, innovation management, and international management. All of this makes it necessary to redesign the organizational structure and management system of the university. The study offers a model for a regional university management structure.
