Often in the contemporary period, norms in society are the biggest barrier to inclusion. The old attitudes are hardly disappearing and many still resist the acceptance of students with disabilities and learning problems or from minority cultures. Prejudices towards those with differences can lead to discrimination, which inhibits the educational process. The challenges of inclusive education could be attributed to students' challenges and not to the shortcomings of the education system.
