The NEON Project, funded by the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, aims to make use of the energy performance of buildings, the generation and storage of renewable energy, to bring flexibility to the system, establish and develop a technical and commercial ecosystem for integrated energy services for European communities, which are able to save energy, reduce CO2 emissions and generate economic and social benefits, while promoting energy efficiency and flexibility on the demand side. The project involves grid stakeholders, services providers and end consumers, to establish cross-sector agreements and underlying service concepts.
