The article deals with the problem of enhancing pedagogical parental culture in Ukraine today. Modern views on raising children provide, first and foremost, understanding of their needs and interests. Today children need respect and democratic approach to nurturing, they deny severe restrictions and compulsive measures. That is why most parents feel that traditional ways of raising children do not work. It makes a lot of parents helpless and frustrated. They want to share their problems with other parents and need advice from professional specialists in pedagogy and psychology. That is why the problem of improving pedagogical parental culture is especially topical today. Nowadays the notion “parental education” has become widely spread and truly international. It covers a big range of knowledge, including pedagogical, psychological, ethical, medical, legal information. Parental education today is viewed as a constant process of development and self-perfection of parents which aims at raising successful and happy children. The aim of the investigation is to analyze the problems of family education in Ukraine today. The evolution of parental culture in Ukraine starting from the beginning of the XXth century and up to our days has also been studied. The authors prove the necessity of its development in modern society, the importance of co-operation between parents and schools. The authors also suggest the ways of interaction with troubled families and the ways of further improving pedagogical parental culture.
