Arrenurus (Arrenurus) latus Barrois & Moniez, 1887 Synonyms: Arrenurus hofsteni Walter, 1910; Arrenurus sinuator commutatus Viets, 1930 Type material: Holotype (Barrois & Moniez 1887), possibly not deposited in any scientific collection. Type locality: Northern France, in Pont-à-Vendin (Barrois & Moniez 1887). Geographical distribution: Western Palaearctic (Gerecke et al. 2016). Distribution in Portugal: Centre: Beira Alta (Valdecasas 1988), in Côa River, near 10 km to Vilar Formoso (Lundblad 1956). Ecological notes: In fresh to oligohaline waters, being a eutrophication-tolerant species. Larval insect hosts: Diptera Chaoboridae, Chironomidae and Culicidae (Gerecke et al. 2016); present in Myriophyllum spp. and Juncus spp. (Lundblad 1956).
