MedECC has published the First Mediterranean Assessment Report (MAR1) on the current state and expected risks of climate and environmental change in the Mediterranean Basin. The Chapter 2 "Drivers of change" describes characteristics and evolution of human-induced and natural factors that cause changes in the Mediterranean Basin ecosystems and human systems. In order to cover most major risks for people and biodiversity, four broad domains of change drivers are considered: climate change and variability, pollution, land and sea use changes and non-indigenous species.
