Eastern Pacific— Mexico (Gulf of California, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas), Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru (Tumbes). Remarks. Previous records from the coast of São Paulo include Iguape, Ilha Comprida, and Cananéia (Barbieri & Melo 2006; Barbieri et al. 2016). Litopenaeus vannamei is native from Eastern Pacific (Holthuis 1980) and was introduced in Brazil as a cultivated species in shrimp farming (Silva & Barros 2011).
