This article deals with the use of the authentic audiovisual document, Les Enquêtes Impossibles, with a view to promoting oral competence and learning the specialty language by French undergraduate students. Indeed, we conducted an experiment to see the contribution of this document to the development of the linguistic skills of these students. The results of the study show us that the use of the authentic document allows the simultaneous work of language and culture with the opportunity to acquire the special language of a given field. This document also stimulates students' motivation and their involvement in their learning.
