Meligethes (s.str.) auripilis Reitter, 1889 Biological notes. A small series of specimens belonging to this rather common species, widespread in central and SW China, was recently collected by the authors in several localities of northern Sichuan [Jiuzhaigou Valley; Nanping area, pond-lake of Gan (Ganhaizi)]. All specimens were collected on flowering Rosa spp. with white and pink flowers (at least two different species, still pending specific identification; Rosaceae). As hypothesized by Audisio et al. (2015), Rosa spp. are likely the larval host-plants of this species.
