Abstract

Barsine takamukui (Matsumura, 1927), comb. n. (Figs 83–85, 188, 189, 245) Miltochrista takamukui Matsumura, 1927, Journal of the College of Agriculture, Hokkaido Imperial University, Sapporo, Japan, 19 (1): 69, pl. 5, fig. 4 (Type locality: [Taiwan] “ Formosa; … at Horisha”). Type material examined. Photographs of the holotype (Fig. 85): ♀, Horisha, Formosa, -1917 / Miltochrista takamukui / Type Matsumura (Coll. HUFA). Other material examined: 1 ♂, Taiwan, Nantou Hsien, Lushan spa, 26–29.VII.1981, R. Sato leg. / Inoue Coll. B.M. 1992-71, slide NHMUK010313438 Volynkin (Coll. NHMUK); 1 ♂, Taiwan, Prov. Ping-Tung, 10 km SE of Mutan, 470 m, 03–04.VII.1996, leg.: G. Csorba et L. Németh, slide MWM 34579 Volynkin (Coll. MWM/ ZSM); 1 ♂, Taiwan, Prov. Nantou, 3 km SW of Tsuifeng, 121´10´´E, 24´06´´N, 2100 m, 18.VIII.1996, leg. T. Csővári & L. Mikus (Coll. MWM/ ZSM); 1 ♀, Lushan-spa, Nantow Hsien, Taiwan, 29.VII.1985, Y. Kishida leg., slide AV2540 ♀ Volynkin (Coll. SZMN). Diagnosis. Forewing length is 12 mm in males and 12–13 mm in females. Barsine takamukui is a closest relative of B. kuatunensis. These two species have no external differences. The male genitalia of B. takamukui differ from those of B. kuatunensis by the valva being narrower distally, the basally narrower medial costal process, the slightly smaller ventral diverticulum, and the absence of a medial row of small cornuti in vesica. The female genitalia of B. takamukui differ from those of B. kuatunensis by their slightly smaller corpus bursae without signum (in B. takamukui, the signum is present), and larger appendix bursae. Distribution. Endemic of Taiwan.
