El antirracismo de Fernando Ortiz

Abstract

A representative part of Fernando Ortiz's voluminous work was dedicated to demonstrate the anticientific foundaments of the "races" applied to the human beings and the diverse forms in that the racisms are manifested in the national and international context to whom corresponded to live in combat. Although Ortiz was a connoted utterer of the antirracists ideas with articles, conferences, speeches, books and in the radio too. I have selected as unit of analysis ten texts that during more than five decades (1910-1955) he offered a highly representative samples of his conceptions and of his open faith in the development of the sciences like road to strengthen convictions. During more than a half century Fernando Ortiz exercised a wide investigation campaign, promotion and actions in favor of the cause antirracist which an energetical apostolate in favor of the science and against the terrible myth of the "races”. It was about persuading to convince, of teaching to open the understanding on the unit of the human species, independently of the physical and cultural multiple variations as a result of the wide adaptative capacity and transforming the ecosystem.
