Os pterossauros foram répteis que viveram na Terra durante o período do Mesozoico, de 250 a 65 milhões de anos atrás, sendo pioneiros dentro do grupo de vertebrados que desenvolveram um verdadeiro vôo, por isso dominaram os céus do horizonte longínquo, e assemelharam-se à um animal “híbridos entre aves e morcegos”, além de apresentarem características de répteis (Butler, 2009; Witton, 2013; Kerllner, 2015).
