Conyza lobata Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 862. 1753. "Habitat in Vera Cruce." RCN: 6225. Lectotype (Khan & Jarvis in Taxon 38: 661. 1989): Houstoun, Herb. Clifford: 405, Conyza 4 (BM-000647044). Current name: Neurolaena lobata (L.) Cass. (Asteraceae). Note: Although Moore (in Fawcett & Rendle, (Fl. Jamaica 7: 269. 1936) indicated Houstoun material in BM as the type (noting duplicate material in the Clifford herbarium), this was not seen by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name. However, the Clifford material was available to Linnaeus, and its choice as type was formalised by Khan & Jarvis (though their attribution of it to Turner (in Pl. Syst. Evol. 140: 134. 1982) was incorrect).
