Polyphagous, reported from 167 species belonging to 51 plant families (García Morales et al. 2016). Distribution. Australasian, Afrotropical, Nearctic, Neotropical, Oriental and Palaearctic regions (García Morales et al. 2016). This is the first record of Ph. madeirensis in Uruguay.
