The lesson materials contain a Latin text version of Ovid, Pyramus et Thisbe prepared for intermediate learners (e.g. with vocabulary aids, illustrations etc.) and context-based tasks for vocabulary work tailored for this text and a specific core vocabulary (the most frequent 500 words of the so-called Bamberger Grundwortschatz: Adeo). The intervention study (pretest, lesson material, posttest) was conducted over a period of 6 to 8 weeks in two high-schools in Berlin, Germany (2018-2019). Note: Regarding the studies, vocabulary competence is understood in a broad sense referring to the storing and retrieving from the mental lexicon (i.e. different word levels: form, function, concept).
