Digital infrastructures embed the culture and context where they are created. The core premises of our "pocket infrastructures" are: 1) by simplifying infrastructure we can amplify and diversity participation and 2) by exploring alternative infrastructures, we can also explore alternative futures, including those for open scholarship, and the connection between global knowledge, international standards and local community practices and contexts. This demo will show a set of digital pocket infrastructures , developed since 2014, for open and reproducible scholarship and publishing, data activism and digital citizenship and also the community practices and prototypes build around them, reflecting the particular contexts of the Global South where they are being co-created, and how they embody our proposal to include other subjects and voices as equals in the upcoming global conversation about scholarship, publishing & citizenship.
