D3.2 – Use Cases Definition and Evaluation Plan

Abstract

This document defines the operational and evaluative framework that will guide the implementation and assessment of the HYPER-AI platform across its demonstration activities. The deliverable addresses the overarching challenge of enabling decentralised Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities across a distributed edge-to-cloud continuum. To that end, it presents a structured set of use cases—spanning the domains of Industry 4.0, Green Energy, Mobility, Farming & Agriculture, and Healthcare—which serve to validate the technical innovations of the project in real-world scenarios. The use cases have been defined using a methodology adapted from the IEC 62559-2 standard, tailored to accommodate AI, edge computing, and distributed systems, ensuring scalability and technology neutrality.
