Toolkit sobre Questões Jurídicas, Proteção de Dados e Licenças

Abstract

This toolkit was developed as part of the Re.Data project, with the aim of supporting researchers in planning their projects with regard to the legal obligations associated with research data management. The toolkit was developed based on an analysis of European and Portuguese legislation, institutional documents from national and international universities, as well as other existing resources in the field of research data management. To this end, this toolkit starts with a set of questions about the characteristics of the research project, promoting a contextualised approach. Based on the answers, legal and technical guidelines, practical examples, templates and complementary resources are presented. By adopting a research-centred approach, the toolkit aims to promote a more conscious and informed culture of research data management, aligned with legal principles and open science. Its goal is thus to support more responsible research practices, helping to bring the regulatory complexity of current legislation closer to the everyday reality of researchers in their research units.
