Abstract

Classe ACTINOPTERYGII Klein, 1885 REMARQUES Les fossiles d’Actinopterygii sont peu cités dans la bibliographie. Seules des épines natatoires d’un cyprinidé indéterminé sont indiquées sur le site « Les Caves » (Churin & Lemerez 1984). Ce manque de matériel est lié au faible tamisage effectué lors des anciennes fouilles. Quelques fossiles d’Actinopterygii du site « Les Pavés » ont été vus dans les collections de l’ULB et du MMSL (Annexe 1). Ils correspondent à des vertèbres indéterminables, des épines natatoires et quelques petites dents pharyngiennes. Les épines natatoires sont longues, triangulaires et présentent un sillon central bien marqué. Ces caractères peuvent les rapprocher de la famille des Latidae (Gagnaison et al. 2023). Les petites dents pharyngiennes (Fig. 16) ont une forme haute, ovale et une table d’usure en biais. Elles sont typiques du genre Tinca (Augé et al. 2002). Les Latidae et les Cyprinidae (dont Tinca sp.) sont déjà connus dans le Miocène ligérien mais mal documentés. Dans le cadre de futures fouilles paléontologiques, il est conseillé d’accentuer le tamisage du sédiment pour mieux comprendre l’ichtyofaune de l’Orléanien supérieur (MN 5) de la FSMO.
