Material examined: This species was identified from the fisherman’s catch, 8.7–10.2 cm. Distribution: Throughout India including Rajasthan. Remarks: Dwells in rivers, streams, lakes, and backwaters. It can tolerate salinity. Breeds in running waters among inundated boulders and vegetation.
