Abstract

**SOOTY-HEADED BULBUL Pycnonotus aurigaster Range Biak. Status Introduced. 28 January 1995: first noted on Biak, three near the airport; by 16 October 1997 the feral population was thought to be established (D. Holmes unpubl.). Since then, has become moderately common in southern Biak especially around the airport and nearby hotel gardens.
