*CHANNEL-BILLED CUCKOO Scythrops novaehollandiae Range Biak, Yapen. Status Austral migrant. On mainland New Guinea this species is also a local breeder. No specimens from Biak, but regularly heard and seen since c.1995. Its status on Biak, as on mainland New Guinea, is unclear. However, on 30 August 2015 KDB saw five being chased persistently by a Torresian Crow Corvus orru in selectively logged forest on the north coast of Biak.
