
Hemisus marmoratus (Peters, 1854) Marbled Piglet Frog Material: Two males, NGK-Nimba 0085, NGK-Nimba 0089 (Fig. 8 D). Comments: Hemisus marmoratus is a fossorial frog, very common in the savannah ecoystems of sub-Saharan Africa (Rödel 2000; Channing and Rödel 2019). We found it in the Yéalé village (07°31.928’N, 008°25.401’W; 425 m asl), among short grasses at puddles, in leaf litter under cocoa and coffee trees, and around a manual hydraulic water pump. The body size of males ranged from 29.0– 34.5 mm (N = 4), while females measured between 33.0– 50.5 mm (N = 8).
