This recently described species is only known from the Serra da Neve inselberg and is considered a strict endemic (Branch et al. 2021; Conradie et al. 2023). This highland specialist was found in vertical walls of large granite boulders at night. A juvenile (MUNHAC / MB 03 - 001552) was collected in rock crevices near a communal laying site with dozens of hatched eggs. Genus Hemidactylus Goldfuss, 1820
