El rol de la universidad en el desarrollo social de la ciencia y la tecnología en el siglo XXI.

Abstract

En el siglo XXI, las universidades se encuentran ante una serie de desafíos, retos y posibilidades, tales como su inserción en el mundo digital, en la hiperconectividad, en el avance de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC), así como la incursión en el uso de la inteligencia artificial, siendo elementos que caracterizan las orientaciones de la educación superior del presente. En tal sentido, la misión de la universidad se centra en respaldar el crecimiento de la investigación científica, cuyo impacto trascienda el valor comercial y se constituya en un bien social, que facilite las actividades cotidianas y básicas del ser humano, que se conecte con los principios de la sostenibilidad y sustentabilidad. Basado en estos lineamientos conceptuales, la presente investigación explora el papel que desempeña la universidad contemporánea en el desarrollo de la ciencia, haciendo énfasis en la urgencia de conectar la producción científica con el desarrollo social, ecológico, económico y comunitario.

In the 21st century, universities are faced with a series of challenges, challenges and possibilities, such as their insertion into the digital world, hyperconnectivity, the advancement of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), as well as incursion into the use of artificial intelligence, being elements that characterize the orientations of higher education today. In this sense, the mission of the university focuses on supporting the growth of scientific research, whose impact transcends commercial value and constitutes a social good, which facilitates the daily and basic activities of human beings, which connects with the principles of sustainability and sustainability. Based on these conceptual guidelines, this research explores the role that the contemporary university plays in the development of science, emphasizing the urgency of connecting scientific production with social, ecological, economic and community development.
