Striped Mojarra; Mojarra Rayada, Patao Rayado, Comearena, Palmito, Palometa Vouchers: UCR 0363-008 (11) and 1081-001 (1); LSUMZ 15309 (5), 15326 (5), 15345 (9), 15358 (7) and 15422 (1); other collections: KU 22702 (1) and UF 233935 (1). Distribution: Western Atlantic Ocean; from South Carolina, USA, to northern Brazil; entering estuaries and littoral lagoons and ascending river courses; (Nicaragua) Co, UI, WK, Pr, KP, Es, BF, IM, To, Sa, SJ, RF and LN (Atlantic); 0–31 masl; Per, Dia, Amp. Occurrence and conservation status: Nat; LC (2015), population trend stable.
