Abstract

Es handelt sich urn eine dimensionslose Kennzahl im Sinne der Dimensionsanalysis. Als solche tritt sie formal bei der Entdimensionierung der Impulsgleichung (Kraftegleichgewicht an einem Fluidelement) auf. Wegen der Kopplung der Impulsgleichung mit der Thermischen Energiegleichung uber die sog. konvektiven Terme der Energiegleichung tritt die Reynolds-Zahl indirekt auch in der thermischen Energiegleichung auf und ist deshalb bei konvektiven Warmeubertragungsproblemen von Bedeutung (s. dazu auch das Stichwort Konvektive WArmeubertragung).
