The scrap consumption in the electrosmelting of steel in Russia is predicted. Data regarding the introduction of electric arc furnaces in 2013 and the construction of mini mills relying primarily on metal scrap in the period up to 2020 are derived from official Russian sources. The production of electrosteel will continue to expand as a result of the shutdown of open-hearth furnaces and the introduction of new electrosmelting shops in Russia.
