Contextos e práticas funerárias da Idade do Bronze na bacia hidrográfica do rio Ave (Noroeste de Portugal)

Abstract

Os dados para o Bronze Final permanecem desconhecidos. Durante o Bronze Inicial a presença de objetos metálicos e de alguns túmulos opulentos conectados com o vale parecem “marcar fisicamente” a paisagem. Nas montanhas os monumentos sob tumuli indiciam a importância do papel social da morte e da necessária preservação da memória ancestral. Durante o Bronze Médio os dados revelam modos de vida e concepções distintas da morte. Se para as comunidades serranas esta parece continuar a ser um importante marco espacial, nos vales predomina a morte invisível, quiçá associada à perda da importância do cadáver enquanto referência coletiva e espacial. Há, ainda, certos lugares ancestrais de memória e de grande significado coletivo (re)visitados entre o Bronze Inicial e o Bronze Final.
