Abstract

Considerando a importância que a qualidade dos comportamentos maternos assume em episódios de atenção partilhada, assim como o possível efeito que a prematuridade exerce sobre esta competência, este estudo procurou (i) explorar e caraterizar a atenção partilhada em grupos de bebés prematuros tardios, tendo como comparação um grupo de bebés de termo e (ii) estudar o efeito que o comportamento materno pode ter na atenção partilhada em ambos os grupos. A amostra incluiu 72 díades mãe-bebé, dos quais 42 (58.3%) bebés prematuros tardios. As díades mãe-bebé foram observadas numa interação de jogo livre, que foi gravada e, posteriormente, cotada usando um sistema de cotação para analisar a interação mãe-bebé. Os resultados mostraram que não há diferenças ao nível da atenção partilhada em função do estatuto do bebé. No entanto, os comportamentos maternos constituíram preditores da atenção partilhada, uma vez que a capacidade materna para manter o foco atencional do bebé conduziu a mais episódios de atenção partilhada em ambos os grupos. Os resultados do presente estudo contribuem, assim, para ampliar o conhecimento acerca da atenção partilhada nos grupos de bebés prematuros tardios e remetem para a importância de considerar o comportamento materno na interação mãe-bebé.
