Abstract

Os principais objetivos deste estudo foram (a) explorar a hipótese de que a resolução da ambivalência pode ser conseguida através da utilização das duas estratégias diferentes a dominância e negociação e (b) comparar casos de sucesso e insucesso, relativamente à utilização destas duas estratégias, ao longo do processo terapêutico. Foi utilizada uma amostra, previamente recolhida, de seis casos, com diagnóstico de depressão major, acompanhados em Terapia Cognitivo-Comportamental. O principal instrumento utilizado foi o Sistema de Codificação de Resolução da Ambivalência, permitindo a codificação da amostra quanto às estratégias de resolução utilizadas. Foram analisados os dados realizando hierarchical linear modeling e generalized linear model. A presença dos marcadores de resolução (dominância e negociação) emergiu como preditor da ambivalência (medida através dos marcadores de retorno-ao-problema) na mesma sessão. Nos casos de sucesso, a estratégia de dominância tendeu a decrescer ao longo do tratamento, enquanto a negociação tendeu a aumentar. Nos casos de insucesso, as duas estratégias permaneceram relativamente estáveis. Apesar de a dominância ter sido a estratégia mais utilizada nos dois grupos, a negociação foi mais utilizada pelo grupo de sucesso, o que sugere que se trata de um processo fulcral para a resolução da ambivalência.
