Abstract

[Excerto] Este trabalho teve como principal objectivo o estudo da viabilidade do processo de compostagem na valorização de bagaços destilados, de forma a que possam posteriormente ser utilizados como fertilizantes e, principalmente como correctores orgânicos dos solos. Como complementos para o arranque da fermentação, foram utilizados outros resíduos orgânicos: palha, ma to, casca de pinheiro, serrim e chorume. As misturas de bagaço com os materiais anteriormente referidos, foram feitas de acordo com os conteúdos em humidade de cada um deles, de forma a que o teor de humidade da mistura fosse aproximadamente 65%. 0 material foi distribuído por montes com cerca de 2x 1,6 m de base e altura máxima de 1 metro. Fizeram-se dois conjuntos de montes, um foi mantido a descoberto e o outro foi coberto com plástico suportado por uma estrutura de madeira. Ao longo do processo de compostagem foram analisados os seguintes perímetros. temperatura, humidade, pH, carbono orgânico, razão C/N, CQO, e conteúdos em enxofre, cobre e fósforo. [...]
