The main purpose of the research is to evaluate child poverty in the context of their rights to life, health and nutrition, education and protection and to determine their perspectives on the problems in these matters. The next aim is to reveal the factors that affect children's feelings of deprivation and to obtain information about the deprivation they feel. It is a study prepared with the aim of organizing the steps to be taken regarding child poverty in this context, taking into account that in order to raise individuals with their own ideals who are beneficial to the society, taking into account that the problems that are older than their age prevent them from taking them forward. In line with this purpose, interviews were conducted with children who attend primary and secondary schools mostly in poor areas/districts from four different provinces and have literacy skills through questionnaires and letters. Children were reached through the purposeful sampling method. The obtained data is evaluated with qualitative research techniques. As a result of the research, the effects of poverty from the eyes of poor children were observed. Research also shows that the socio-economic and socio-cultural conditions of the families of the interviewed children greatly influence the poverty perception of the poor children in either positive or negative ways. It was determined that child poverty should be examined by taking into account the wishes of children. It has been understood that the inner world of children should be reflected primarily while discussing the solution proposals for the problems mentioned. In line with these findings, it has been tried to prove that the poverty situation that children live in prevents the realization of the basic rights of children.

Araştırmanın temel amacı, çocuk yoksulluğunun yaşama, sağlık ve beslenme, eğitim ve korunma hakları bağlamında değerlendirilip bu hususlardaki sorunlara bakış açılarını tespit etmektir. Daha sonraki amaç çocukların yoksunluk duygularını etkileyen faktörleri ortaya koymak ve duydukları yoksunluklara ilişkin bilgi alınmasıdır. Topluma yararlı kendi idealleri olan bireyler yetiştirebilmek için çocukların bulundukları ortamlarda yaşlarından büyük sorunları kendilerine dert edinmelerinin onları ileri götürmelerini engellediğini dikkate alarak çocuk yoksulluğuyla ilgili atılacak adımları bu bağlamda düzenlemek gerektiğini amaçlayarak hazırlanan bir çalışmadır. Amaç doğrultusunda farklı illerden çoğunluğu yoksul kesimlerdeki ilkokul ve ortaokula devam eden, okuma yazma becerisine sahip çocuklarla mektup aracılığıyla görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Amaçlı örneklem yöntemi ile çocuklara ulaşılmış olup. Elde edilen verilerin nitel araştırma teknikleriyle değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda illerdeki yoksul çocukların gözünden yoksulluk kavramının etkileri gözlemlenmeye çalışılmış ve sosyo-ekonomik ve sosyo-kültürel konumlarının yoksul çocukları olumluolumsuz nasıl etkilediği görülmüştür. Çocukların istekleri ve dilekleri dikkate alınarak çocuk yoksulluğunun incelenmesi gerektiği belirlenmiştir. Dile getirilen sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerilerini tartışırken çocukların iç dünyasının öncelikli olarak anlaşılması gerektiği düşünülmüştür. Bu bulgular doğrultusunda çocukların ve ailelerinin yaşadıkları yoksulluk durumunun temel çocuk haklarının gerçekleşmesini engellediği ortaya konmaktadır.
