Abstract

The purpose of this research is finding the answer to the quesiton of `Is there any positive effect of religious music education in the religious vocational high schools on the students' self esteem?` In accordance with this purpose, by taking necessary permisson from the governorship, a total of 81 students in the 9th and 10th grade, who are having education at the Istanbul Uskudar Hakkı Demir Anatolian Religious Vocational High School, which is the only high school in this particular field and accepting students with talent exam in the religious music field.At the first stage, the place of music and religious music education in our country's education system, what is self-esteem, what does it mean if it's high or low in the context of human behavior, and the relation between music and self-esteem are tried to be mentioned.Afterwards, in order to be able to present the given education literally, attandence to the classes with students and interviews with the teachers were carried out.After the given education presented, by applying the Rosenberg Self-esteem scale along with the demographic information form, self-esteem was compared between 40 students who receive religious music lesson and 41 students who do not.In addition, it is investigated whether the self-esteem of the students were influenced by factors like age, income level of the family, the education level of parents, the type of music most frequently listened to in the family and birth order.Statistical analyses revealed that the religious music education had no positive effect on self-esteem and also it was understood that factros like age, income level of the family, education level of parents, the type of music most frequently listened to in the family and birth order did not affect the self-esteem.

Araştırmanın amacı; `İmam hatip liselerindeki dini musiki eğitiminin öğrencilerin öz saygısına olumlu bir etkisi var mıdır?` sorusunun cevabını aramaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda valilikten gerekli izinler alınarak dini musiki alanından yetenek sınavı ile öğrenci alımı yapabilen ve bu özelliği ile alanında tek lise olan İstanbul Üsküdar Hakkı Demir Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesinde 9. ve 10. sınıflarda eğitim gören toplamda 81 öğrenci üzerinde çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlk etapta müzik ve dini müzik eğitiminin ülkemiz eğitim sisteminde ne kadar yer kapladığı, öz (benlik) saygının ne olduğu, yüksek veya düşük olmasının insan davranışları bağlamında ne ifade ettiği ve müzik ile öz (benlik) saygı arasındaki ilişki belirtilmeye çalışılmıştır. Daha sonra okulda verilen eğitimin tam manası ile ortaya koyulabilmesi amacı ile öğrenciler ile derslere girilmiş ve öğretmenler ile görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilen eğitim ortaya koyulduktan sonra dini musiki dersi alan 40 öğrenci ile almayan 41 öğrenciye demografik bilgi formu ile birlikte Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı ölçeği uygulanarak öz (benlik) saygıları karşılaştırılmıştır. Bununla beraber öğrencilerin öz (benlik) saygılarına yaş, aile gelir düzeyi, anne ve babanın eğitim durumu, ailenin en sık dinlenen müzik türü ve doğum sırası faktörlerinin etkisinin olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Yapılan istatistiksel analizler sonucunda dini musiki eğitiminin öz (benlik) saygıya olumlu bir etkisinin olmadığı anlaşılmış olup yaş, aile gelir düzeyi, anne ve babanın eğitim durumu, ailenin en sık dinlenen müzik türü ve doğum sırası faktörlerinin öz (benlik) saygıya etkisinin olmadığı anlaşılmıştır.
