Abstract

ÖZET İZMİT KÖRFEZİ'NDE BESİN ELEMENTLERİNE BAĞLI FÎTOPLANKTON DEĞİŞİMİ Bu çalışmada İzmit Körfezi'nin batı, orta ve doğu kesimlerinden toplam 6 istasyondan alınan numunelerle Mart 2001 -Nisan 2002 tarihleri arasında besin elementlerine bağlı fîtoplankton değişimi incelenmiştir. Körfez' de yüzey suyu (0.5m) sıcaklığının mevsimsel olarak değiştiği gözlenmiş, maksimum sıcaklık Eylül 2001 'de 23 °C ile, minimum sıcaklık ise Ocak 2002'de 7°C olarak ölçülmüştür. Işık geçirgenliğin bir göstergesi olan SDD, körfezin doğusundan batısına doğru artış göstermiş, minimum değeri (1.5m) Mart 2001 döneminde 1. istasyonda saptanırken, maksimum değere (14m) Haziran 2001 'de 9. istasyonda ulaşmıştır. Çalışma periyodu boyunca NO2+NO3-N konsantrasyonu, Ocak 2002'de Körfez' in doğusunda yer alan 1. istasyon 0.5m de, 324ng/L ve Nisan 2002'de 274jig/L ile maksimum değere ulaştığı saptanmıştır. Orto-fosfat (0-PO4) ise en yüksek değerlere 1. istasyon 0.5m de Nisan 2002'de 127ug/L ile, Eylül 2001 'de 1 16ug/L ile ulaştığı saptanmıştır. Silikat (SİO2) dağılımı, diğer besin elementlerine göre oldukça yüksek değeler göstermiş ve maksimum değere 1413ug/L ile Mart 2001 döneminde 1. istasyon 0.5m de ulaşmıştır. Birincil üretimin bir göstergesi olan klorofîl-a, Körfez' in genel dağılımında doğu kesiminde artış yapmış ve en yüksek değere 29.0 mg/m3 İle Mart 2001 4. istasyonda ulaşmıştır. Orta ve batı kesiminde 5-15mg/m3 arasında değişen değerler aldığı saptanmıştır. Mevsimsel olarak yapılan bu çalışmada toplam 23 fîtoplankton türü tespit edilmiştir. En çok gelişmeyi doğu kesiminde gerçekleştiren fîtoplankton, Haziran V2001'de 1. istasyon yüzeyde (0.5m) 409 750 hücre/L ile, Ocak 2002 döneminde 6. istasyon yüzeyde 507 110 hücre/L ile maksimum değerleri aldığı saptanmıştır. Çalışma periyodu boyunca dinoflagellat özellikle kantitatif açıdan dominant grubu oluşturduğu saptanmıştır. Prorocentrum micans ve Gonyaulax sp. dominant türler olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ceratium fusus, C.furca ve Peridinium depressum her dönemde tespit edilmiş ancak aşırı üreme yapmadıkları gözlenmiştir. Diatom konsantrasyonu dinoflagellat konsantrasyonundan daha düşük tespit edilmiştir. Ancak Ocak 2002 döneminde dinoflagellat grubu ile kış patlaması yapmış ve maksimum değere 1. istasyon 10m de 13455 hücre/L' ye ulaşmıştır. Shannon-weaver çeşitlilik indeksi, 0.05-2.6 değerleri arasında bulunmuştur, istasyonlar arasıda önemli farklılıklar olmadığı görülmüştür. İstasyonlara göre türlerin aşırı üreme gösterdiği dönemlerde, fitoplankton çeşitlilik indeksinin düşük olduğu saptanmıştır. İzmit Körfezi'nde dinoflagellatın dominant grubu oluşturması, ortam şartlarına diatom grubundan daha toleranslı olduğunu göstermektedir. Doğu ve orta kesimlerde yoğunlaşan fitoplankton miktarı, anoksit şartların oluşmasına sebep olmuştur. Kasım, 2003 Betfil YERLİ VI

ABSTRACT DISTRIBUTION OF PHYTOPLANKTON RELECTED WITH NUTRIENTS IN IZMIT BAY la this study, nutrients and phytoplankton distribution were investigeted at eastern, central and western part of İzmit Bay at 6 stations during March 2001 -April 2002. Seasonal surface temperature variations were observed with maxsimum value of 23 ° C in September 2001 and minimum value of 7° C in January 2002. Light intensity as an indicator of SDD, it was increased from eastern to western part of îzmit Bay. The minimum value was determined (1.5m) at station 1 in March 2001 and maximum value was measured at station 9 (14m) in July 2001. Nutrient concentrations were measured at all stations from surface to a certain depht depending on depht of the stations. The highest NO2+NO3-N concantration was measured 324 ug/L at the surface water (0.5m) at the eastern part of Bay in January 2002 and 274 ug/L at same the station in April 2002 at station 1. The highest ortho-phosphate concantration was measured at the surface waters of station 1 with values of 127 ug/L and 116 ug/L in September 2001 and April 2002, respectively. Distribution of silicate consantrations were not as same as nitrogen and phosphate. The highest value was determined 1413 ug/L in March 2001. Chlorophyll-a as an indicator of primary production, increased from western to eastern part of the Bay. The highest value of 29.0 mg/m3 was obtained at the eastern part of the Bay at station 4 in March 2001. Relatively low value of 5-15 mg/m3 was obtained at the central and eastern part of the Bay. Phytoplankton measurement was done seasonally and 23 species were identified. High growth rate was seen at eastern part of the bay. The maximum values were determined 409750 and 5071 10 cell/L in June 2001 and in January 2002. respectively. vnDinoflagellata was dominant group in the bay waters. Prorocentrum micans and Gonyaulax sp. were determined dominant species in the Bay. Ceratium furca, C. fusus and P. depression were obtained at all sampling date but they did not show high production. Diatom concantration was not as high as dinoflagellata concentration but at staiton 1 in January 2002 diatom concantration was reached the highest value in winter with 13455 cell/L. Shannon-weaver diversity index was determined between 0.05-2.6. There is no big difference between stations concerned. According to the high growth rate period, the diversity indices were determined low as expected. The bay waters show that dinoflagellata is dominant.
