Özet Eski bir köşk, koca koca apartmanların arasına sıkışmış. Köşkte iki yaşlı kadın, biri hanımefendi diğeri hizmetçi. Birlikte efendi-köle ilişkisi içinde geçmiş bir ömür, sonlarına yaklaşılmış bir ömür. Hanımefendi yatalak, hizmetçi hala ayakta ve hizmette iki büklüm. Hizmetçi kadın Nuriye, küçük bir kızken geldiği köşkte bütün ömrünü boğaz tokluğuna ev işleri yaparak geçirmiş. Nuriye'nin de her insan gibi hayalleri olmuş ama hiçbir hayali gerçekleşmemiştir. Ne bir sevgili ne bir çocuk ne de kendine ait bir yuva. Hep bir sığıntılılık hali, hep başkalarının -özellikle ablanın- hayatında düşlerini yaşama hali. Son demleri yaşanan ömürden iç burkucu manzaralar. Abla bütün fiziksel yeteneklerini kaybederken, Nuriye'nin zihinsel fonksiyonları yok olmaya başlar. Artık ne hayal ne gerçek ayrımında değildir. Halüsinasyonlar görür, televizyonda izledikleri de özdeşleşmeninde ötesinde bütünleşme halindedir. Bir televizyon starına aşıktır ve evde artık ablanın gidemediği bütün bölgeler onun fotoğrafları ile donatılmıştır. Nuriye paslı bir bedende 15-16 yaşlarında bir kızın zekası ve zevkleri ile yaşar. Nuriye, rutin bir güne kendi horultusu ile uyanır. Kendi kendine ve duvardaki fotoğraflarla konuşur. Kahvaltı hazırlarken abla lazımlığını ister. Nuriye kapıya gelen bir anketörü eski bir arkadaşı zanneder, boş bahçede çimleri ezen çocuk hayallerine bağırır.huriye lazımlığı tabak çanağın olduğu lavaboya hiç düşünmeden döker. Televizyonda izlediği starın o akşam kendisi ile nişanlanacağına ikna olur ve hazırlık yapmak için sokağa çıkar. Bu arada hizmette kusur etmez ve ablanın yatalak olduğunu unutarak ocağa ıhlamur koyar ve altını söndürmeden çıkar. Abla ocağı söndürmek için bütün gücünü harcarken Nuriye alışverişini yapar ve dostlarını nişana davet eder. Abla bütün gayreti ile mutfağa ulaşmaya çalışır ve bütün gücünü tüketmiş bir halde ocağı söndürmeyi başarır. Nuriye ise eve dönerken dalgınlıkla bir otomobilin önüne atlar ve yere düşer. Arabadan inen sürücü Nuriye'nin yanına gelir. Nuriye son bir gayret gözlerini açar, karşısında aşık olduğu televizyon starını görür. Ona erken geldğini söyler ve gözlerini mutlulukla kapatır.

Summary An old house, between the big apartment buildings. There are two old ladies in the house, one of them is the lady and the other one is her maid. They lived together all their life as a master and a slave. A life that almost over. The lady is handicapped and maid is still serving! The maid Nuriye came to the house when she was a little girl and lived her life doing all house work just for surviving. Nuriye as any human being had many dreams but none of them ever came true. She never had a life her own neither a boy friend nor a child. She always lived her life under the shadow of the lady. Very sad scenes from a nearly finished lives. When the lady lost all her physical abilities, Nuriye started losing her mind. She no longer understands what is real what is dream. She has hallucinations, she thinks she lives the things on the television. She is in love with a television star and she put his pictures everywhere in the house. Nuriye lives like a teenager in an old body. Nuriye wakes up in the morning with her own snoring sound. She starts talking to herself and pictures on the wall. While she prepares the breakfast the lady calls her from the other room to get her pot. She thinks that she knows the beauty saloon's representative, and she starts shouting to the empty garden as if the neighborhood kids are in the garden. She empties the pot to the kitchen sink and she believes that televisionstar will come that night to engage her. She leaves the house to get ready for the engagement party but she puts a pot full of herb tea on the stove. The handicapped lady tries to get to the stove with all her effort. Nuriye shops From the neighborhood store and invites her friends to the engagement party. The lady comes to the kitchen and turns off the stove. Nuriye walks to the street without noticing that a car is approaching. A white jeep hits her and she falls on the ground. She opens tier eyes with big difficulty and sees the television star. She tells him that he came early and closes her eyes with happiness. -IV-
