Abstract

The main text of thesis work is transposition to Turkey Turkish from Ottomon Turkish script of Yusuf Samih Asmaî?s travel diary ?Memories of The Sicily.? However, before transfered text, travelogue type gives informations about travelogues in Turkish literature and Europe travelogues in Turkish literature. After transferred main text; there is a reviwe text contains the following subheadings that Asmaî benefited from history and geography books: Cities, Social Life in Sciliy in The Early 20th Century, The Similarities Between Italians and Arabs, The Similarities Between Italian which Spoken in Sicily and The Arabic Language, Streets; Churches, Monasteries and Graves; Theatre Buildings, Mansions, Palace anda Spme Important Buildings; Libraries and Museums, Gardens and The Mountains

Tez çalışmasının ana gövdesini Asmaî'nin Sicilya Hatırası adlı gezi yazısının Osmanlı Türkçesinden Türkiye Türkçesine aktarılması oluşturmaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra, aktarı metninin öncesinde, seyahatname türü, Türk edebiyatında seyahatname ve Türk edebiyatında Avrupa seyahatnameleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Ana aktarı metninin ardından; Şehirler, 20.yy Başlarında Sicilya'da Sosyal Hayat, İtalyanlar ve Araplar Arasındaki Benzerlikler, Sicilya'da Konuşulan İtalyanca ile Arap Dili Arasındaki Benzerlikler, Caddeler; Kilise, Manastır ve Kabirler; Tiyatro Binaları, Köşkler, Saraylar ve Bazı Önemli Binalar, Kütüphaneler ve Müzeler, Bahçeler ve Dağlar, Asmaî'nin Yararlandığı Tarih ve Coğrafya Kitapları alt başlıklarını içeren inceleme metni bulunmaktadır
