Sinema ve din eğitimi

Abstract

Religious education is a field that focuses on teaching with love more than mere knowledge. Students must love their religion and their religious educators and desire to internalize and practice what they learn about their religion. Religious education is not successful if there is not love. The movies are one of the means for teaching about religion. Although movies have been used in the past to vilify religion, today the movies have great potential for promoting religious education. This dissertation has four sections. The first section is an overview of the Hollywood, Iran, and Turkish movie history from a religious point of view. The second section discusses the effect of movies on humans and society. The third section explains how to use movies in informal educational settings. The final section is a study of ways in which movies can be used in formal education.
