Abstract

Türkiye’de sinema ve din tartışmaları sinemanın Osmanlı ülkesine gelmesiyle birlikte başlamıştır. Buna rağmen akademik düzeyde sinema ve din konusunun ele alınışı uzun yıllar mümkün olmamıştır. İlki 1977’de olmak üzere bu alanda 18 kitap kaleme alınmıştır. İlk tez çalışması ise 1986 yılında yapılmıştır. Ülkemizde 2019 yılına kadar sinema ve din alanında 31 yüksek lisans, 12 doktora çalışması yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmaların belirli anabilim dalları ve üniversitelerde yoğunlaştığı görülmektedir. Tezlerde konu olarak dini temalar ve dindar tipolojilerine ağırlık verilmekte ve çoğunlukla doküman inceleme ve literatür taraması yöntemi kullanılmaktadır. Sinema ve din alanında yazılan makalelerin yazarlarının büyük kısmının unvanı doktor öğretim üyesidir. Genellikle genç akademisyenler bu alanda makale yazmayı tercih etmekte ve sinema ve din alanındaki çalışmalar belirli üniversite ve anabilim dallarında yoğunlaşmaktadır. Tezlerde olduğu gibi makalelerde de en çok ele alınan konular dindar tipolojileri ve dini temalar iken, en çok tercih edilen yöntemler literatür taraması ve doküman incelemedir.

Religion and film debate started in Turkey when cinematograph came to the Ottoman State. However, religion and film weren’t studied academically for many years. The first book was written in 1977 and 18 books have been published so far. The first MA thesis was written in 1986. And, between 1986 and 2019, only 31 MA theses and 12 Ph.D. dissertations were written. These dissertations mostly were produced primarily at a few universities and in departments such as sociology of religion and cinema-TV. The most popular topics were religious themes and representations of devout Muslims. The most popular methods were film reviews and literature reviews. Most of the academics who have written articles on religion and film are assistant professors. Generally, young academics prefer writing on religion and film. These academics mostly works at a few universities and departments. The most popular topics were representations of devout Muslims and religious themes.
