Abstract

In Argentina the school experiences of indigenous and migrant population, particulary those with etnic “branding” linked with indigenous, are still developing in a setting that puts in evidence significant levels of exclusion, despite the changes introduced by the public politics from the last years. This article aims to adress the “socioeducative” situation of indigenous children and teenagers self-identified as tobas/qom and of migrants and migrant children from Bolivia in Buenos Aires province. We will go in depth in the question of intergenerational, interethnic and national identity and the bond between valued knowledge in families, indigenous and migrant organizations, and schools. The research which origins this work is done from an ethnographic approach, complemented with the analysis of documents, laws and statistical material.
