Abstract

In the estuary of Bahía Blanca; different dynamics between humans and non humans overlap each other accounting for the constitution of schematas of praxis. Each one struggling for legitimacy and prevailing over the other. Such a situation is observed in the development of socio-environmental conflicts in the use of the estuary. An ethnographic approach enables the construction of three types of schematas in the area: the ría, the port and the natural reserve. In each one, forms of relationship between human and non-human beings are described; that delineate specific forms of identification / otherness, classification and toponym systems. It is also suggested that disputes and conflicts derived from the use of marine and coastal resources, in turn mask asymmetric relations in the constitution of social political processes.
