Abstract

Se realiza una integración de datos arqueológicos relacionados con los cazadores-recolectores del Holoceno tardío inicial en las sierras del centro de Argentina, con el propósito de analizar los procesos sociales y la nueva configuración de los paisajes culturales de la época. Dicha información, producto de diferentes investigaciones realizadas en forma discontinua durante décadas, e intensificadas en los últimos años, abarca diversos tipos de contextos y materiales: depósitos estratificados en abrigos rocosos, bases residenciales a cielo abierto, paneles con arte rupestre, inhumaciones, ornamentos personales, etc. De este modo, el Holoceno tardío inicial (ca. 4200-2000 años AP) es definido como una época de cambios e innovación para los cazadores recolectores locales, con nuevas formas de construir los vínculos comunitarios, demarcar los paisajes, participar en redes de intercambio de larga distancia, tratar los restos de los difuntos y crear posiciones sociales emergentes.
