Autonomía solidaria: condiciones individuales, relaciones sociales y bien público

Abstract

The article transmits bioethical reflections as from a recent research on vertical transmision of HIV-Aids in the state of Cordoba, Argentina. Health programs destined to avoid vertical transmission of HIV-AIDS have been mostly effective. Nevertheless, after their first positive impacts, in the State of Cordoba, Argentina, the incidence was not reduced to the minimal expectable rates. The causes of this situation were researched, with the hypothesis of the relevance of the following situations: lack of accompaniment, relevance of social, economic and cultural factors, and finally the need to acknowledge the autonomy of the persons involved in a more integral way. The results of this research are interpreted with a specific bioethical approach, showing that the notion of autonomy has to be enriched by criteria such as recognition, permission, responsibility and solidarity, which would also mean an enrichment of professional practice by means of a pedagogical effort and personalized accompaniment.
