Abstract

El presente artículo trata de la aplicación del Modelo de Razonamiento Geométrico de Van Hiele y la enseñanza de la geometría. Se reflexiona sobre la importancia de estudiar geometría y lo que esto significa para la sociedad moderna; analiza, además, las concepciones y dificultades que se dan en la forma de enseñar y el aprender geometría. Introduce el Modelo de Van Hiele explicando la evolución del razonamiento geométrico a través de cinco niveles consecutivos y del apoyo que brindan sus fases a la organización del currículo, así como a partir de una comparación con la teoría del desarrollo de Piaget.

This article discusses the application of the model of Van Hiele geometric reasoning and the teaching of geometry. It reflects on the importance of studying geometry and what this means for modern society, analyzing also the conceptions and difficulties that exist in the form of teaching and learning geometry. Introduce the Van Hiele model explaining the evolution of geometric reasoning through five consecutive levels and the support given, by its five stages, to the organization of the curriculum and a comparison with the development theory of Piaget.
