Silvina Ocampo: lo siniestro está en casa

Abstract

This article studies the narrative of Silvina Ocampo in her book La furia y otros cuentos in order to present an interpretative approach to the “Fantastic” from the author’s perspective. Within its theoretical framework, the study starts with Sigmund Freud’s concept of “the sinister”, continues with Tzvetan Todorov’s concept of “vacillation” and finishes with Víctor Bravo’s concept of “the horror” produced by “the absurd”. Thus, these theoretical views help to present the narrative unity of Ocampo’s book
