BANDOLEROS COSTARRICENSES DEL SIGLO XIX

Abstract

A few years ago Hobsbawm wrote that "bandits and highwaymen roads worried the police, but they should also worry the historian. Because in a sense, banditry is one more form primitive good of organized social protest, perhaps the most primitive that we know" (Hobsbawm, 1974:27). From that moment on, the proposal more than rejection engendered many adhesions that still recently follow arriving, which can be grouped in two directions; those that follow to the letter the model, and others who choose a less simple path. Both of one group or another in their conclusions, the contributions of the design. In the Latin American case with the summary of a couple of works, we can draw several lessons from the meaning of the rule created by Anglo-Saxon historian
